This project is gathering UW requirements for systems to manage rich digital content, including media content (video and audio) and research data content that may come in many forms.
The final report from this requirements gathering project is at: https://wiki.cac.washington.edu/x/kPzi
The project grew out of the Digital Well RPI project , which included in its final report a recommendation to "Research Campus Collection Management Needs, Engage Partners & Formulate a Recommendation".
The project will survey a group of campus media users to ascertain needs for rich content management, and will write a report of learnings from that survey. The goal is to have that activity complete by May 15, 2009.
Follow-on actions may include discussions with specific departments (Oceanography, Libraries, External Relations) to gather more detailed requirements, and formulating a set of recommendations for further action.
The project is led by Oren Sreebny, with help from Tom Lewis, Phillipa Kassover, Jim DeRoest, and Jamie Alls.
The survey instrument is at: https://catalysttools.washington.edu/webq/survey/oren/7400
The survey was distributed to the UW Digital Media Special Interest Group.
