Ann Marie Kimball, Carl Osaki, Matt French, Yuzo Arima, Debbie Johnson
Agenda:
1) Plan for follow up letters of thanks, etc.
2) Decide on how and where to report findings
3) Review where we are on video permissions and evaluation.
Notes:
Video:
If Louis isn't here to do something with UW TV, someone else will need to work with them. Thank you letters and evaluations:
Yuzo is going to make a few changes to the letter and send it out. Technical Notes:
From Singapore they could hear China perfectly, but they couldn't see them. Ann Marie will talk to Rod Hoff to see if they recorded the sound so that they can add it to the video. Tech team is doing a survey to find out who was able to see and hear what. (Example: Singapore heard China, but U.S. could not.) Yuzo will add anyone who is not in the EINet subscription list to the list Questions to Consider:
What were some of the issues that kept people from being able to participate in the way that they intended to? (Example: the Philippians)
What symposiums do we want to target with this video?
(Canadian Global Health meeting?)
This could make a good paper.
Jacqueline won an award for presentation about the 2006 symposium.
How do we frame the "others" aspect of this? Ask people who want to be authors and have them do the draft review. (We should encourage only people who are very interested to be authors. If 4 or 5 volunteer, we can put individual names but if there are 14 then we'll go with APEC EINet as the author.)
How many people attended/participated in this event? What was the reach? Proposal:
Would it be good to have a regional table-top discussion about using this technology to address scenarios (simulations)?
To identify gaps that are out there.
"Strong Angel" does simulations to address disaster scenarios.
What are the issues in doing this?
Perhaps we could invite the Canadians to come up with the scenario and maybe Carl can facilitate.
Action Items:
Ann Marie will talk to Rod Hoff to see if they recorded the sound so that they can add the audio from China's presentation to the video.
Tech team is doing a survey to find out who was able to see and hear what. (Example: Singapore heard China, but U.S. could not.)
Yuzo will add anyone who is not in the EINet subscription list to the list
Letter is fine and ready to be sent out by Yuzo whenever he is ready
Ann Marie sent summary notes to the team. Matt will pull together the notes (from Koji, Ann Marie, others).
Yuzo will send Matt the paper on the last symposium.
