 Project Name:
 | *Date:* \\ | 04.03.2008 \\ |
 | *Team Name:* \\ | APEC EINet Working Group \\ |
 | *Attendees:* \\ | Greg Koester, Emi Mizuki, Matt French, Nedra Pautler, Yuzo Arima, Carl Osaki, Ann Marie Kimball, David Cox, Jacob Morris, and Jacqueline Brown(via the phone) |
 | *Agenda:* \\ | \\ |
 | *Notes:* \\ | *WIKI UPDATE* \\
Greg went over the changes to the Wiki.  There was a question as to whether the locations for health and business have been cross-referenced.  Matt and Yuzo indicated that they will be taking care of this. \\
 *HEALTH UPDATE* \\
Individual personalized emails asking for information have been sent by health.  All of the locations for health have been filled in and we are going to try to identify tech contacts in the same city that the health and business contacts reside.  Tokyo, Japan and Mexico City, Mexico are still tentative.  Yuzo will be following up with these economies. \\
 *CONVERSATION WITH JACQUELINE* \\
Jacqueline has requested a grid with space for economy, city, the name of tech contact, email, and address. We will give Jacqueline a table for economies for whom we are missing information. \\
Jacqueline stated that some countries are reluctant to give technology and it is important to have a Plan A, Plan B, and a Plan C. \\
Yuzo will provide a list of tech contacts that participated in the previous symposium.  All the tech and health contacts from the 2006 event were cc'ed in the original emails. \\
We are able to communicate with the technical contacts that Jacqueline has given us and should indicate that we are a part of the team with whom she is working.  \\
Malaysia: Jacqueline has not contacted yet \\
New Zealand: Jacqueline has not contacted but it will be easy \\
Philippines: Jacqueline has sent several emails with no response \\
 Chinese Taipei: not yet \\
Bangkok, Thailand: where did they host last time??? \\
 Viet Nam: \\
 *TRAVELING?* \\
The person from Shell Brunei doesn't want to travel.  University of Darussalam might be an option but we don't know the connectivity.  There was a question as to what bandwidth is necessary?  Ann Marie stated that she is reluctant to experiment with the U of Darussalam.  \\
We don't know what the situation with the U of Jakarta is at present.  Jacqueline indicated that there is 150 mb connectivity in the country.  They may or may not have Access Grid.  It might be wise to have Indonesia travel to Singapore. \\
It will be decided as to whether it is a go or no go for Indonesia and Brunei by next week... \\
PNG will be traveling to Canberra. Australia. \\
 *DISCUSSION ABOUT TECH SURVEY* \\
Ann Marie is concerned about the survey and indicated that one on one contact would be best.  She recommended we ask them individually for the information.  We should let theme know that this is the first of many chances they will have to give input.  Also, it needs to be clear to them that we are there to troubleshoot the issue with them.  We need to get on these email communications next week. \\
 *TECH NOTES* \\
China Department of Health wants to participate in their new VC facility.  We have a phone number for Li Zhipeng.  We need to ask Mr. Weicai Wang from CERNET (wangwc@cernet.edu.cn) to contact Li Zhipeng. \\
 Korea: Send Jacqueline information \\
Ann Marie's contact Walter Curioso has offered to be the University \\
Contact for the actual tech contact in Cayatino, Lima, Peru.  Dr. Curioso is an affiliate professor here at the University of Washington. \\
*Jacob and David Presentation on Technology* \\
 Timeline \\
We'd like to know about the technology contacts by 14 April and make a decision about what technology will be used by 25 April.  We need to start testing on April 28{^}th^ (and hopefully testing will be done by 16 May).  We would like to have a Dry Run with Roll call by 22 May.  The Symposium will be on 29-30 May 2008. \\
 Survey \\
The survey will ask for the correct contact information for day-of event.  A speed test will be done directly from their location.  The survey will be used to supplement personal information that has been provided via email.   The results of this survey will influence technology recommendation. \\
 \\
Pros and Cons of Various Technologies \\
Access Grid and Conference XP \\
Jacqueline stated that she is strongly against pushing Access Grid and recommended we be careful about how we present Conference XP because it is no longer a Microsoft product (simply gathering information at this point). \\
Corporate Web Based Solutions: Adobe Connect Professional and Microsoft Live Meeting (Pros and Cons)  Discussion of the contract piece and the ongoing cost \\
INSTEAD sent Ann Marie a contact and Louis followed up on it (Erik Randmisson).  Ann Marie will contact Louis about this. \\
