Getting access to the genpool queue
The mox.hyak genpool queue (partition) is for use by UW people who are not eligible for any other queue on mox.hyak.
If you are a student then please see below link to get access to the stf queue instead of the genpool queue.
If you are not a student then ask people in your department or research group to find out if your department or research group has nodes on mox.hyak. If your department or research group has nodes on mox.hyak then you can get access to their queue instead of the genpool queue.
If you are not a student and your department or research group does not have nodes on mox.hyak then you can request access to the genpool queue.
Use your UW e-mail account to send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject "Mox hyak genpool" and request access to the genpool queue for your UW netid.
Using the genpool queue
To request an interactive single-task job for two hours with 4 cpus and 16GB of RAM, use the following command :
srun -p hpc -A genpool --time=2:00:00 --ntasks=1 --cpus-per-task=4 --mem=16G --pty /bin/bash
If you submit a batch job then you must have below lines in your slurm sbatch script:

Your home directory on mox.hyak has a disk quota of 10G. Hence, you should store large amounts of data on /gscratch/scrubbed. Use below command to create your directory for storing data. Replace abc by your userid.
Note that data on /gscratch/scrubbed which is older than 30 days is automatically deleted. Hence, after your computations on mox.hyak are over, you should download the output data to your desktop or laptop.
If you want a storage location which is not scrubbed, you can request your PI for buy storage space on mox.hyak. See the below link and click on the pricing tab.
