For Slurm scheduler, you always have to specify your queue ( a queue is called partition in Slurm) .

For example to use the eval nodes (hyak-hpc group), use below command on the mox login node to submit the Slurm script called myfile.slurm.

For batch job:

sbatch -p hpc -A hpc --time=2:00:00 --mem=100G myfile.slurm

For interactive node:

srun -p hpc -A hpc --time=2:00:00 --mem=100G --pty /bin/bash

Below discussion is for the case when you belong to two or more hyak groups.

When your sbatch job is for the xyz group then you should use below sbatch command:

sbatch -p xyz -A xyz --time=2:00:00 --mem=100G myfile.slurm

Also myfile.slurm should have below command as the first command after all the #SBATCH lines:

newgrp xyz

Similarly, when you want an interactive node, for the xyz group then you should use below srun command:

srun -p xyz -A xyz --time=2:00:00 --mem=100G --pty /bin/bash

After, you get the interactive node, you should first run below command :

newgrp xyz
